AS we have all looked at our books!!!!!

Yes the package arrived and we all had to have a look to see what we had let ourselves in for, I think it looks really good and I am glad I have chosen to do this course, it has also given me a chance to rethink my future plans.

I have read through Book 1 and 2, made a few notes and Clicked on links here and there some worked some not, Its OK to learn the basics and everything but I just want to get stuck in and we still have a few weeks before we start and I fear I may have read all the books by then...........

I know that some of the things I will go back to as we have to discuss them with each other in the forum, I am reading about us being analogue and the computer world being Digital....a step up and away from DNA at least.

I am just itching to get started...anyone else the same as me or are you all manage to hold yourselves back and have some discipline..

I enjoyed the whole Bowtie thing though actually writing up a report thing but anyone else had a problem with Bowtie 1 at the beginning my player made a noise and its almostlike there was supposed to be a voice with the video clip, I hope there was as my report included that, it would be nice if someone let me know, my report will probably be then completely wrong but never mind.

I hope someone else is going to join me, I am very good at talking to myself as you might be able to see by now but I would prefer a conversation, so I have made a start in here so hopefully others will answer and add things.. but please someone let me know about bowtie 1...

The bow tie mpeg should contain a voiceover all the way through. I have not looked through everything yet, mearly glanced, will take a better look tomorrow.

looking in the folder where i keep my course work G:\Education\M150\M150\Block1\Sups\Bowties

i find six files

1. A 2.4MB movie file with audio
2. A 1.8MB movie file without audio
3. A 2.41 MB sound file of the movie files audio
4. A 2.48 MB rich text format document with discrptive text and diagrams
5. A 601 KB document which is the same as the above but a quarter of the size
6. A 693 Bytes note pad file format which is just basic text but very very small considering the above

all these files tell you how to tie a bow tie

my way of thinking is that its not teaching me how to tie a bow, its to look at the size and to be made aware of and to take into consideration of the type media format to use to suit the perpose

hope this helps, as i am not that far yet, i'm just observing and not commenting on how i've done it myself
and no one is saying i'm right...?? i maybe wrong and drifting off on a tangent (Any other comments are welcome)

Hi Dean, slightly off on a tangent there....... the bowtie thing as I have now found out on bowtie 1 which was a video file of a person doing up a bowtie, also should have a voice over, it was this file that was corrupted on mine so when I was writing up the report talking about different representation I had to guess that it was a video clip with voice so that I could say in my report that this was a fairly good way of teaching a person to tie it not really knowing what the voice was saying. I appreciate your input and Atleast I am not just talking to Shovi alone anymore.
